Planet TV on the Wolfova 1 case: Federico Pignatelli speaks to Planet 18

Planet TV aired a report on its Planet 18 programme about businessman Federico Pignatelli and his longstanding struggle for his family's property at Wolfova 1 in Ljubljana.
In the report, Pignatelli describes his years of seeking justice, which he says Slovenia's ineffective rule of law denies him. After the Second World War, the authorities confiscated the building at Wolfova 1, regarded at the time of its construction as a symbol of the city's economic rise, from his grandfather Emerik Mayer, who was imprisoned, tortured and killed after the war.
The interview was prompted by an open letter that Pignatelli recently addressed to the Olympic Committee of Slovenia. In it, he strongly opposes the decision to award the title of its first female honorary member to lawyer Tjaša Andrée Prosenc, the same lawyer he and his mother hired more than three decades ago to help with the building's denationalisation. In the interview, Pignatelli directly calls her a criminal, accusing her of abusing their trust and appropriating part of the property for herself and her son, Gregor Prosenc.
In the conversation, Pignatelli also says that even US President Donald Trump advised him to avoid Slovenia because of corruption in the country. Pignatelli launched the Hiša pravice project to help bring about change in Slovenia, a country he loves. Despite her terrible experiences after the war and the fraud she later suffered in independent Slovenia, his mother, Doris Mayer, still instilled in her son a love for her homeland.
