How Tjaša Andree Prosenc Abused the Postwar Trauma of Doris Mayer

In this video Federico Pignatelli describes the traumatic experience of his mother Doris Mayer and points out how their lawyer Tjaša Andree Prosenc exploited the consequences of a brutal assault that marked Doris for life. In the video Federico explains what happened to the Mayer family at the end of the war and how the lawyer used psychological manipulation on the traumatized elderly woman.
Doris Mayer was a young woman when, after the end of the war in brutal times of unimaginable violence, she was imprisoned, beaten and raped, then driven barefoot across the Alps. The consequences of this traumatic experience accompanied her until her death last year. In her final days the bitterness at thoughts of her homeland was especially deep, as she felt betrayed by Slovenia when she learned that her lawyer had deceived her.
Doris Mayer loved her homeland. Despite all her suffering, at the time of Slovenia's independence she stepped forward to help and with her connections she made a key contribution to the country's recognition by the Italian political leadership. Her memories mixed recollections of a happy upbringing in Bled and Ljubljana with the horrors of postwar communist violence that she experienced.
On her first return to her homeland she trembled and never wanted to regain Slovenian citizenship, because the fear at the memory of the suffering her family endured was overwhelming. However, in the next step she became a victim of the corruption of her lawyer and the system that protects her.
The notorious lawyer from the post-communist elite manipulated Doris Mayer, who became psychologically and emotionally dependent on her. She knew how to frighten her into believing she would lose all the family's property if she did not obey her and sign all the documents presented. Of course Doris Mayer could not understand the contents of these documents, but the psychological abuse was effective.
Federico admits that Tjaša Andree Prosenc was extremely persuasive and capable of manipulation. She knew how to present herself as kind and attentive, even as a friend who cared for her clients. That is why she completely took over Doris Mayer, who was convinced that they were truly friends.
When it turned out that the lawyer had deceived her, Doris Mayer did not want to believe it for a long time. This was a new traumatic experience that accompanied Doris to her death. After a short interim period of light, when the Slovenian judiciary rehabilitated her father Emerik Mayer on the basis of testimony from numerous partisan families, a new period of darkness followed.
She hoped for a just end and the return of what had been stolen from her family. That hope was not fulfilled. Therefore Federico continues the fight against Tjaša Andree Prosenc and Gregor Prosenc for justice for his family.
